Just A Thought
There are two major conferences taking place this weekend in Texas related to the church. One in Dallas features Rick Warren, First Lady Laura Bush, and others on how we can better meet the needs of those around us. The other in Arlington is to educate Southern Baptists on the Holy Spirit, due mainly to the debate among Baptists over the gifts of the Spirit.
Allow me to draw a New Testament correlation. Jesus went about healing people and meeting their needs. The Pharisees were more concerned with whether Jesus and His disciples washed their hands.
There is a definite need for both conferences, but if the people in Arlington would let God be God and give Him the freedom to work however He chooses, they could be in Dallas learning how to do what Jesus did. Just a thought.
