from my notebook

My head is full of thoughts, and I have to write them down.

The Challenge of Passion

Passion for God and furthering His kingdom is a wonderful thing that should be desired by all of us, but with it comes a challenge – the challenge of balancing that passion with the rest of our lives.  We are the example to the world of a better life.  If our passion brews resentment in those we love because we’re so absorbed in our service to God, we aren’t modeling a life to be desired.  We must remember that furthering the Kingdom of God begins in our homes and those we hold the most influence over, and an unbalanced life always opens the door for the adversary.  “Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 Amplified
