Mark 10:31 "But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” It struck me while reading this verse that moving from our lives here on earth into the new world of heaven may be a little like going from high school into real life. Those who were the most popular and made the best grades many times seem to fall by the wayside later in years, while those shy, quiet, less popular, less studious classmates go on to fame and or fortune. I've seen it many times. Hollywood is full of stars who were nobodies as teenagers. The kicker is, life is much longer than high school. So too is eternity much longer than life here on earth. Heaven's definition of success is much different than this world's. We must focus on laying up treasures in heaven by how we live here (namely putting others first).
