from my notebook

My head is full of thoughts, and I have to write them down.

Running Jesus Off

Luke 8:37 – “Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.” This is a sad verse. Most of us would declare that we would never tell Jesus to go away, especially when He was performing miracles. However many have been guilty of this; not openly and verbally as these people necessarily. But we do shut down Jesus, or maybe in our case, the Holy Spirit when He doesn’t show up the way we expect Him to. We can run Jesus off through our attitudes of piety, judgementalness, pride, etc., even in the midst of a miracle, if it isn’t what we want or doesn’t fit with our ideals.

Those were good insights. The greatest way that we push Jesus away is through disobedience and refusal to surrender to the Lordship of Christ.

May God bless you Supernaturally and abundantly today.
