Who Is For Us?
Luke 9:50 – “Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.” It would be wonderful if we could easily distinguish who is on our side in this spiritual battle. Jesus gives us a clue here, but what determines who is against us? Doctrinal issues? If so, which ones? Certainly not all of them, because some are pretty trivial in my opinion. Or is it just the basic doctrine of accepting Jesus as God’s son and our Savior? Throughout history God’s people have divided themselves over various issues that are too trite to make either side against Christ. If we could only apply Jesus’ words here and get along with each other…
