The Prince of Peace
“And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” – Is 9:6b
When Jesus began his ministry, the people were looking for worldly peace – no more government oppression, no more war. We know that wasn’t what Jesus came to bring, yet we still seem to look to him for that. As Prince of Peace, he came to give each of us internal, spiritual peace. Only when that occurs will world peace occurs. Perhaps instead of praying for wars, crimes, and economic problems to end we should address the root of the problem – the lack of inner peace inside each of us.
