Thoughtful Quote for the Day
Reading my current beside Agatha Christie, I came across a very interesting passage. In the book The Hollow, the author is describing a character’s sculpture called “The Worshipper.”
She’d got it all right; the humility, the strength in the neck muscles, the bowed shoulders, the slightly upraised face — a featureless face, since worship drives out personality.
“Worship drives out personality.” What a statement. I often find Mrs. Christie quite insightful, and this is just another example. Does worship drive out our individual personality? What does that mean? Do you worship God that way?
