A Prayer for Our Prayers
I love how the scriptures refer to our prayers being like the pleasant scent of incense to God’s nostrils. Psalm 141:2 says, “Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!”
Matthew Henry comments on this verse as such – “Prayer is a spiritual sacrifice, it is the offering up of the soul and its best affections.” Wow, think about that. Are your prayers a spiritual sacrifice? Do you offer up your soul and your best affections when you talk to your Savior?
