Response to Change
I recently watched a documentary on the transition of floor trading to electronic trading at the Chicago Stock Exchange. It was fascinating to watch the various responses to the change. Many of the mostly men had been trading stocks, options, and futures on the floor of the Chicago Exchange for 20 or 30 years.
Some approached the change with an open mind, but others were down right angry and resentful, fighting mad at “evil computers” taking over the process of trading from the hundreds crowding into the pit shouting their lungs out in a truly brutal environment.
Change is everywhere. It will occur whether we like it or not. It is inevitable. The good and the evil lies in how we respond.
