Breathe in Your Blessings
I’m used to my blessings, that’s all. Just as one never thinks what a boon it is to be able to breathe through one’s nose until one has a cold in the head.
I read those words last night in an Agatha Christie short story, spoken by a character who had everything she thought she needed to make her happy but was now bored. Later in the story the character goes on to say,
It is very dangerous to have everything you want – including enough money to buy things.
Among the dangers is getting used to your blessings and taking them for granted. Today, stop and take a long, hard look around you, then breathe in deeply all your blessings.
