Where Does Relevant Begin?
We hear a lot about making church relevant to today’s culture. From the music to the teaching/preaching styles to the atmosphere and use of media technology, much time and effort goes in to how the message of Christ is presented. This effort should never be confused with the idea that truth is relevant. But even while making the truths of the Bible applicable to today’s culture, we must answer the question where does relevant begin.
We can make everything in our church services and evangelism/discipleship efforts current and relevant, but if we are not living it out, it isn’t really relevant, is it? Our day to day lifestyles prove (or disprove) all our presentations. Where does relevant begin? With obedience.
