Problems in The Church
Perry Noble wrote a great article last week entitled Four Problems The Church Has GOT To Deal With!. Here are some teaser excerpts with my commentary.
“people are not asking about the five points of Calvinism, the trichotomy or dichotomy of the Spirit or the peccability/impeccability of Christ! They are asking ‘why is my life falling apart?’ Or, ‘how do I get past the fact that I was sexually molested when I was eight?'” – I suppose this is why I prefer Joyce Meyer‘s style of preaching. She uses the Bible to teach people how to live their every day lives. It would be quite hard not to understand her. Doctrine and Theology are important, but the average person will quickly choke on it. Noble goes on to say, “Too many people are so obsessed with their theological labels, I believe, so that they don’t actually have to do real ministry!” – Ouch?
“We should be doing things BETTER than Apple, BETTER than Disney and BETTER than Google! There is WAY more at stake with what God has called us to! And ‘Spirit Filled’ should not equal poorly planned, thrown together and poorly executed!” – Obviously Apple, Disney, and Google have more money than most churches. The point I think that’s being made here is excellence, doing the best we can with what we have. And many times we can have more than we think we can.
Go read the whole article and chew on it.
